Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 4 July 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of vehicle inspection services by Vehicle Inspect South West (“we”, “our”, “us”) to the customer (“you”, “your”).

By booking or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Our Service

Vehicle Inspect South West provides independent mobile pre-purchase vehicle inspections throughout South West Western Australia.

Our inspections are designed to provide a professional opinion on the condition of a vehicle at the time of inspection to assist prospective purchasers in making an informed buying decision.

An inspection is not a guarantee of the future reliability, performance or lifespan of any vehicle.

2. Booking and Payment

Bookings may be made online, by telephone or by email.

Once the inspection time and access are confirmed, an invoice is sent. Payment is required before the inspection.

Where a diagnostic scan is performed:

Results are limited to the information available through the vehicle’s onboard systems.

Some faults may not generate fault codes.

Fault codes may have been cleared before inspection.

Some manufacturers restrict access to certain systems.

A clear diagnostic scan does not guarantee the absence of faults.

6. Road Test

A road test will only be completed where:

The vehicle is registered (or legally permitted to be driven)

It is safe to do so

Weather and road conditions permit

The owner provides permission

If a road test cannot be completed, the inspection will proceed without it.

7. Inspection Report

Our report reflects the condition of the vehicle at the time of inspection only.

The report is based on observations made during the inspection and professional mechanical judgement.

Vehicle condition may change after the inspection due to further use, repairs, accidents or component failure.

Any recommendations provided, including “Buy”, “Buy with Negotiation” or “Walk Away”, are opinions based on the inspection findings and should be considered alongside your own judgement.

8. Photographs and Video

Photographs and videos supplied with the inspection report are provided for reference only.

They form part of the inspection report but may not capture every defect identified.

9. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring:

The seller has authorised the inspection.

The vehicle is accessible at the agreed location.

Accurate vehicle details have been supplied.

The vehicle can be safely inspected.

Delays caused by restricted access may incur additional charges.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Vehicle Inspect South West is not liable for:

Hidden or latent defects

Future mechanical failures

Component failures occurring after inspection

Manufacturer design faults

Damage caused by previous repairs

Loss of resale value

Loss of income or business opportunity

Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the inspection service unless otherwise required under Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Third-Party Reliance

Inspection reports are prepared solely for the customer who commissioned the inspection.

No other person may rely upon the report without our prior written consent.

We accept no responsibility to third parties who obtain or rely upon the report.

12. Vehicle History

(Personal Property Securities Register) Report

Included in every inspection, Vehicle Inspect South West will obtain and provide a Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) report using the vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

The PPSR report may include information available at the time of the search, including:

Whether a security interest (finance) is currently registered against the vehicle.

Whether the vehicle has been recorded as written off.

Whether the vehicle has been recorded as stolen.

Vehicle identification details where available.

The PPSR report is sourced from official government records and third-party data providers. Vehicle Inspect South West does not create, alter or verify the accuracy or completeness of the information contained within the report.

While we take reasonable care to ensure the correct VIN is searched, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness or currency of PPSR data, as records may change or may not have been updated at the time of the search.

Customers should carefully review the PPSR report before completing the purchase of any vehicle. Where finance or other security interests are identified, we strongly recommend obtaining written confirmation from the seller and, where appropriate, the secured party before proceeding with the purchase.

Vehicle Inspect South West accepts no liability for any loss arising from inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information contained within the PPSR report where such information originates from external government or third-party databases.

13. Cancellations

Bookings cancelled with reasonable notice will generally not incur a cancellation fee.

Where our inspector has already travelled to the inspection location or commenced the inspection, a cancellation or call-out fee may apply.

14. Refunds

If the vehicle sells before the inspection, you receive a full refund.

Because our service involves professional time and expertise, refunds will generally not be available once an inspection has commenced.

If you believe an error has occurred, please contact us so we can review your concerns.

Where a refund is approved, the refund will only be paid into the same payment method or account originally used to pay for the inspection. Refunds will not be paid to an alternative bank account, card, person or third party.

This requirement is in place for payment security, fraud prevention and record keeping purposes.

15. Privacy

We collect and use personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

A copy of our Privacy Policy is available on our website.

16. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

17. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Western Australia.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
